In 2022, the average cocoa; paste, not defatted import price amounted to $3,706 per ton, dropping by -5.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $4,721 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Cote d'Ivoire ($3,706 per ton) and Ghana ($3,706 per ton), while the price for Cameroon ($3,706 per ton) and Germany ($3,706 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
