Price for Coated Printing and Writing Paper in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average import price for coated printing and writing papers amounted to $1,043 per ton, remaining constant against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a mild slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 9.8% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,339 per ton. From December 2022 to July 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($1,663 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($807 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average export price for coated printing and writing papers amounted to $2,310 per ton, growing by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, coated printing and writing paper export price increased by +64.0% against 2018 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of coated printing and writing papers, when their volume increased by 66% to 389K tons. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
