The average import price for coal; bituminous, whether or not pulverised, but not agglomerateds stood at $268 per ton in October 2023, waning by -14.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 110% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $804 per ton. From June 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($280 per ton), while the price for Colombia stood at $227 per ton.
