The average import price for coal; bituminous, whether or not pulverised, but not agglomerateds stood at $314 per ton in 2022, picking up by 8.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 420% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $866 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($314 per ton), while the price for Belgium amounted to $256 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+4.6%).
