In October 2023, the average import price for coal; anthracite, whether or not pulverised, but not agglomerateds amounted to $499 per ton, jumping by 139% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $664 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($517 per ton), while the price for India stood at $343 per ton.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+12.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for coal; anthracite, whether or not pulverised, but not agglomerateds stood at $487 per ton in October 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 18% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $560 per ton. From December 2022 to October 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
