The average import price for coal; anthracite, whether or not pulverised, but not agglomerateds stood at $218 per ton in October 2023, falling by -43% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $430 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Peru.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Spain amounted to +2.8% per month.

Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a slight expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 267% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,043 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($2,008 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($636 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
