In 2022, the average chromium; waste and scrap export price amounted to $2,096 per ton, increasing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2022, overseas shipments of chromium; waste and scraps decreased by -9.6% to 85 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, exports, however, showed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 124% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 104 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chromium; waste and scrap exports expanded to $179K in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 130% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
