Price for Chromium Oxides and Hydroxides in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
The average chromium oxides and hydroxides import price stood at $15,796 per ton in December 2022, waning by -1.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a pronounced expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 652% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $35,426 per ton. From November 2022 to December 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the countries with the highest prices were South Africa ($6,027 per ton) and Germany ($6,027 per ton), while the price for Japan ($5,147 per ton) and South Korea ($5,594 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average chromium oxides and hydroxides export price amounted to $2,870 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $5,930 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($9,200 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($654 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (-1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
