Price for Chromium Oxides and Hydroxides in Poland (CIF) - 2023

In August 2023, the average chromium oxides and hydroxides import price amounted to $5,478 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 18% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $6,804 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from France ($7,243 per ton) and Germany ($6,016 per ton), while the price for China ($5,109 per ton) and Italy ($5,451 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average chromium oxides and hydroxides export price stood at $5,139 per ton in 2022, growing by 42% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a mild downturn. The export price peaked at $5,686 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($8,680 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($3,640 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
