Overall, the import price continues to indicate slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 12% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $8,982 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to November 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($16,075 per ton), while the price for China ($3,859 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 9.9% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $9,832 per ton. From June 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Chile ($16,044 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($6,131 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
