The average cereals; maize (corn), seed import price stood at $4,261 per ton in July 2023, jumping by 37% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($4,996 per ton), while the price for France ($3,279 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+29.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, cereals; maize (corn), seed export price decreased by -18.5% against May 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 35% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6,132 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
