In August 2023, the average export price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds amounted to $309 per ton, picking up by 1.8% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a resilient expansion from October 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.5% over the last ten-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, export price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds increased by +1.8% against July 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 45% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $352 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Austria ($314 per ton) and Germany ($288 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($261 per ton) and Slovakia ($277 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
