Price for Cereals; Maize (Corn), Other than Seed in France (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds stood at $332 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -3% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $355 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($353 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland stood at $303 per ton.
From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds stood at $385 per ton in August 2023, falling by -8% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a tangible expansion from October 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1% over the last ten months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, import price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds decreased by -31.4% against June 2023 indices.
