Price for Cereals; Maize (Corn), Other than Seed in Australia (FOB) - 2023

The average export price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds stood at $481 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -43.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, posted a moderate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 166% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,027 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($1,200 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea totaled $468 per ton.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+3.7%).

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,439 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Argentina amounted to +3.6% per month.
