Price for Cereal Groats; Meal and Pellets in Italy (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $895 per ton in June 2023, dropping by -2.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 an increase of 7.2% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $966 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,320 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($556 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $744 per ton in June 2023, shrinking by -17.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a moderate increase from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, cereal groats; meal and pellets import price increased by +12.6% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 41% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $904 per ton in May 2023, and then dropped sharply in the following month.
