Price for Cereal Groats; Meal and Pellets in India (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average export price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses amounted to $401 per ton, rising by 5.1% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a slight setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 8.9% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $468 per ton in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Vietnam ($437 per ton) and South Korea ($436 per ton), while the average price for exports to Senegal ($345 per ton) and Yemen ($347 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cereal groats; meal and pelletses stood at $1,195 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 182% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,204 per ton), while the price for the United States amounted to $1,082 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+42.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
