The average export price for cereal grains; worked (eg hulled, pearled, sliced or kibbled) of oatses stood at $829 per ton in December 2023, rising by 51% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $893 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($889 per ton), while the average price for exports to India stood at $573 per ton.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for cereal grains; worked (eg hulled, pearled, sliced or kibbled) of oatses amounted to $2,768 per ton, picking up by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 75% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($17,748 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,356 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+11.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
