In January 2024, the average export price for cereal grains; worked (eg hulled, pearled, sliced or kibbled) of oatses amounted to $663 per ton, picking up by 2.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $675 per ton in October 2023; however, from November 2023 to January 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In January 2024, the countries with the highest prices were the Dominican Republic ($727 per ton) and Guatemala ($726 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($561 per ton) and Colombia ($596 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Guatemala (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
