The average import price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of oatses stood at $829 per ton in July 2023, rising by 9.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $874 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Sri Lanka ($898 per ton) and the United Arab Emirates ($816 per ton), while the price for Chile ($606 per ton) and Australia ($678 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sri Lanka (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average export price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of oatses stood at $1,680 per ton in July 2023, reducing by -23% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible increase from November 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5% over the last eight-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, export price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of oatses decreased by -24.1% against January 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 73% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,215 per ton. From February 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Maldives ($3,732 per ton), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($1,083 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Maldives (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
