The average import price for cereal grains; rolled or flaked, of cereals excluding barley and oatses stood at $463 per ton in September 2023, jumping by 62% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a slight setback. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $518 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($2,611 per ton), while the price for Brazil amounted to $1,615 per ton.

Over the period from December 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.5%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 16% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $2,132 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,938 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($681 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
