Price for Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Poland (CIF) - 2023
The average import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin stood at $643 per ton in October 2023, reducing by -31.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $945 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($2,288 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($369 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $627 per ton, reducing by -6.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 7.8% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $772 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,320 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK amounted to $511 per ton.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Poland
For the fourth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in overseas purchases of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin, which increased by 15% to 36K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +23.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +86.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 35%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin skyrocketed to $26M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +25.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +98.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Exports of Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Poland
In 2022, approx. 27K tons of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin were exported from Poland; reducing by -41.7% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw pronounced growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 46K tons, and then plummeted in the following year.
In value terms, exports of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin contracted notably to $13M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +33.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 62% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $16M, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
