Price for Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Peru (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin stood at $858 per ton in 2022, increasing by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 38%. The import price peaked at $1,218 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were the United States ($936 per ton) and Venezuela ($877 per ton), while the price for Mexico ($840 per ton) and Colombia ($852 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,928 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 69% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 20K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.

Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -6.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 68% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $18M.
