Price for Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Hungary (FOB) - 2023

In October 2023, the average export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $658 per ton, shrinking by -2.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 33% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $818 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($1,904 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($591 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $825 per ton, which is down by -13.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $949 per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,229 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($359 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
