Price for Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Ghana (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average export price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $1,435 per ton, which is down by -3.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a tangible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the average export price increased by 95%. The export price peaked at $1,483 per ton in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,793 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($521 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burkina Faso (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin amounted to $956 per ton, surging by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 26%. The import price peaked at $999 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($1,616 per ton), while the price for Lebanon ($147 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Cereal Flours; Other than of Wheat or Meslin in Ghana
In 2022, approx. 568 tons of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin were exported from Ghana; with an increase of 3.4% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced contraction.
In value terms, exports of cereal flours; other than of wheat or meslin reached $816K in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a significant increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +25.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -0.1% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 96%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $816K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
