Price for Cereal Flour; of Maize (Corn) in Myanmar (FOB) - 2022
The average export price for cereal flour; of maize (corn) stood at $310 per ton in May 2022, increasing by 2.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2021 when the average export price increased by 55% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $646 per ton. From November 2021 to May 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Thailand.
From September 2021 to May 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Thailand amounted to -3.6% per month.

In 2022, the average import price for cereal flour; of maize (corn) amounted to $474 per ton, with a decrease of -34.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 397%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,387 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($879 per ton), while the price for Singapore ($408 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
