Price for Cereal Flour; of Maize (Corn) in Lithuania (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for cereal flour; of maize (corn) stood at $606 per ton in 2022, jumping by 28% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $688 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,433 per ton), while the price for Croatia ($467 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+5.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 58% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,194 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Russia ($1,120 per ton) and Latvia ($1,048 per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia ($886 per ton) and Belarus ($1,032 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of cereal flour; of maize (corn) decreased by -66.7% to 332 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 76%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 998 tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, cereal flour; of maize (corn) imports shrank rapidly to $201K in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year.

In value terms, cereal flour; of maize (corn) exports declined dramatically to $17K in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a precipitous setback.
