Price for Buttermilk and Buttermilk Powder in Indonesia (CIF) - 2022

In March 2022, the average buttermilk and buttermilk powder import price amounted to $3,059 per ton, declining by -13.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2021 an increase of 26% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,589 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to March 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,888 per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($1,061 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In March 2022, the average buttermilk and buttermilk powder export price amounted to $1,031 per ton, growing by 4.7% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2021 when the average export price increased by 5.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $1,072 per ton in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In March 2022, the countries with the highest prices were Papua New Guinea ($1,040 per ton) and Maldives ($1,029 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cambodia ($786 per ton) and Timor-Leste ($1,000 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Papua New Guinea (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Buttermilk and Buttermilk Powder in Indonesia

In 2022, the amount of buttermilk and buttermilk powder imported into Indonesia fell dramatically to 5.7K tons, reducing by -39.6% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports faced a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 30%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 9.4K tons, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, buttermilk and buttermilk powder imports reduced remarkably to $22M in 2022.
