Price for Briquettes, Ovoids and Similar Solid Fuels; Manufactured from Coal in Iran (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average export price for briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals amounted to $354 per ton, falling by -49.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a perceptible slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 35%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,083 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Qatar ($954 per ton), while the average price for exports to Oman ($101 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the third consecutive year, Iran recorded decline in shipments abroad of briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals, which decreased by -21.2% to 18 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep setback. The smallest decline of -6% was in 2020.

In value terms, exports of briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals declined significantly to $6.3K in 2022. In general, exports showed a dramatic shrinkage. The smallest decline of -16.1% was in 2020.
