In July 2023, the average import price for briquettes, ovoids and similar solid fuels; manufactured from coals amounted to $443 per ton, shrinking by -34% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 90% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $672 per ton, and then dropped dramatically in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($546 per ton), while the price for Germany amounted to $340 per ton.

From November 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 90% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $383 per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to France ($369 per ton) and the Netherlands ($346 per ton), while the average price for exports to Luxembourg ($307 per ton) and Germany ($315 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
