Price for Apples, Pears and Quinces; Fresh in Austria (FOB) - 2023

The average export price for apples, pears and quinces; freshes stood at $1,200 per ton in June 2023, increasing by 10% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a notable expansion from June 2022 to June 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, apples, pears and quinces; fresh export price increased by +25.1% against March 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 30% month-to-month. The export price peaked in June 2023.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($1,638 per ton), while the average price for exports to Albania ($856 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovenia (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in June 2023.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Turkey.
