In September 2022, the average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander amounted to $3,897 per ton, which is down by -21.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 when the average import price increased by 31% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,954 per ton, and then dropped dramatically in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($8,907 per ton), while the price for Myanmar ($762 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 32% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $5,145 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Australia ($7,345 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brunei Darussalam ($3,487 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritius (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
