Price for Anise, Badian, Fennel and Coriander in Colombia (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $3,021 per ton in February 2022, rising by 13% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a notable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2021 when the average import price increased by 168% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,556 per ton. From September 2021 to February 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($10,755 per ton), while the price for India ($2,493 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $8,620 per ton in 2022, jumping by 118% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable increase. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $10,409 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($73,067 per ton), while the average price for exports to Curacao ($2,280 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to El Salvador (+24.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
