Price for Anise, Badian, Fennel and Coriander in Austria (FOB) - 2023

In July 2023, the average export price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander amounted to $4,768 per ton, dropping by -29.9% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a moderate expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, anise, badian, fennel and coriander export price decreased by -33.7% against May 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 55% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $7,583 per ton. From February 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($9,172 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($2,778 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+27.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for anise, badian, fennel and coriander stood at $2,768 per ton in July 2023, waning by -12.4% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a modest increase from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, anise, badian, fennel and coriander import price decreased by -41.5% against February 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 46% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,729 per ton. From March 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +42.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 39%.
