Price for Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in Russia (CIF) - 2022

In January 2022, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price amounted to $640 per ton, surging by 45% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2021 when the average import price increased by 50% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $739 per ton in May 2021; however, from June 2021 to January 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,166 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($340 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price stood at $704 per ton in 2022, which is down by -2.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,541 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($1,248 per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($434 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2014 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+135.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in Russia

In 2022, the amount of andalusite, kyanite and sillimanites imported into Russia declined to 3.7K tons, reducing by -6.8% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports recorded a dramatic shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year.

In value terms, andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite imports reduced to $2M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a dramatic contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 14%.

Exports of Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in Russia

After two years of growth, shipments abroad of andalusite, kyanite and sillimanites decreased by -47.8% to 37 tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 3,472% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 71 tons, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In value terms, andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite exports shrank sharply to $26K in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 4,591%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $51K, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
