Price for Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in China (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite import price amounted to $555 per ton, with a decrease of -6.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 15% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $594 per ton in May 2023, and then shrank in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Zambia ($613 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($402 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Zambia (+410.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite export price stood at $731 per ton in June 2023, declining by -4.2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 an increase of 52% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $902 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($740 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($370 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Andalusite, Kyanite and Sillimanite in China
In 2022, purchases abroad of andalusite, kyanite and sillimanites decreased by -15.6% to 39K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
