Price for Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Kuwait (FOB) - 2021

The average aluminium waste and scrap export price stood at $831 per ton in December 2021, declining by -18.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2021 when the average export price increased by 77% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,594 per ton. From March 2021 to December 2021, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($1,652 per ton), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($406 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+14.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average aluminium waste and scrap import price amounted to $2,040 per ton, shrinking by -13.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a strong expansion. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $3,067 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, overseas shipments of aluminium waste and scraps were finally on the rise to reach 22K tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep downturn.

Imports of Aluminium Waste and Scrap in Kuwait
