The average aluminium; powders and flakes export price stood at $140 per ton in 2022, increasing by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 69%. The export price peaked at $505 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($889 per ton), while the average price for exports to China stood at $105 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.7%).

In 2022, the average aluminium; powders and flakes import price amounted to $4,382 per ton, with a decrease of -16.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted a slight expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 103% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $13,564 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($150,500 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,209 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+45.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
