The average aluminium; powders and flakes import price stood at $4,424 per ton in 2022, which is down by -29% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 66%. The import price peaked at $11,747 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($9,430 per ton), while the price for China ($3,172 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+9.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Imports of Aluminium; Powders and Flakes in Pakistan
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of aluminium; powders and flakeses decreased by -24.4% to 99 tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +12.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 65%.
In value terms, aluminium; powders and flakes imports contracted dramatically to $438K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $816K, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
