The average export price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s stood at $4,499 per ton in November 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 9.8% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,773 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to November 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($15,308 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($4,339 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 18% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $4,873 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,706 per ton), while the price for China ($2,969 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
