The average import price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s stood at $3,964 per ton in March 2022, dropping by -10% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2021 when the average import price increased by 12% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $4,406 per ton in February 2022, and then dropped in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,897 per ton), while the price for Poland ($3,257 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, export price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s increased by +149.6% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 55% against the previous year.
