In December 2023, the average import price for aluminium; plates, sheets and strip, thickness exceeding 0.2mm, alloys, rectangular (including square)s amounted to $3,390 per ton, which is down by -2.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 6.9% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,659 per ton. From April 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Africa ($4,808 per ton), while the price for Bahrain ($2,943 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (-0.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
