In September 2023, the average export price for alloy steel flat-rolled products, of a width of less than 600mms amounted to $2,080 per ton, growing by 4.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $2,441 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($7,738 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($1,572 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
