The average import price for alcohols; cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic and derivatives, sterols and inositolses stood at $5,291 per ton in 2022, declining by -11.5% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 60%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $19,809 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($211,716 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($3,902 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $20,160 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($26,463 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($4,361 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (-0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of alcohols; cyclanic, cyclenic or cycloterpenic and derivatives, sterols and inositolses decreased by -23.3% to 88 tons in 2022.
