Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $6,823 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($8,619 per ton), while the price for India ($3,409 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
