Preserved Sardines Price in Singapore (CIF) - 2022
In September 2022, the average preserved sardines import price amounted to $2,465 per ton, rising by 12% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,594 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to September 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($6,102 per ton), while the price for China ($2,056 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Preserved Sardines Price in Singapore (FOB) - 2022
In September 2022, the average preserved sardines export price amounted to $3,616 per ton, declining by -2.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 189% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $4,157 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to September 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($3,792 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brunei Darussalam ($3,252 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2021 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
