The average preserved fish fillet export price stood at $13,855 per ton in May 2023, reducing by -40.3% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 when the average export price increased by 55% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $23,204 per ton in April 2023, and then shrank notably in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($15,707 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy amounted to $12,361 per ton.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved fish fillet import price stood at $14,358 per ton in June 2023, falling by -22.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 34% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $18,449 per ton, and then shrank remarkably in the following month.
