In 2022, the average phosphorus import price amounted to $9,275 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 76%. The import price peaked at $13,417 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($15,712 per ton), while the price for Germany ($8,155 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+53.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Phosphorus Imports in Bulgaria
In 2022, supplies from abroad of phosphori decreased by -20.3% to 51 kg, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a significant curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 187% against the previous year.
