The average phosphates; of potassium import price stood at $2,386 per ton in March 2022, falling by -8.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2022 when the average import price increased by 536% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $12,857 per ton. From February 2022 to March 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($2,558 per ton), while the price for Russia ($2,122 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average phosphates; of potassium export price stood at $2,388 per ton in 2022, which is down by -23.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed pronounced growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 110%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,129 per ton, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Russia amounted to +2.1% per year.
Phosphates; of Potassium Imports in Belarus
For the fourth year in a row, Belarus recorded growth in purchases abroad of phosphates; of potassia, which increased by 6.1% to 698 tons in 2022. In general, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.0% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +64.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, phosphates; of potassium imports expanded notably to $1.1M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +21.9% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +81.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 735 kg, and then contracted in the following year.
