Pharmaceutical Goods Price in Thailand (CIF) - 2023
The average pharmaceutical goods import price stood at $103K per ton in July 2023, shrinking by -32.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 40% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $152K per ton, and then plummeted in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($157K per ton), while the price for Italy ($32,977 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+10.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average pharmaceutical goods export price amounted to $12,477 per ton, with an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 20% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in July 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Ethiopia ($46,287 per ton), while the average price for exports to Sierra Leone ($3,542 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, exports continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 84% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, pharmaceutical goods exports fell to $74M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 17%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $76M, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
