In December 2022, the average pharmaceutical goods import price amounted to $144K per ton, reducing by -35.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when the average import price increased by 200% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $249K per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to December 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($315K per ton), while the price for Italy ($28,756 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+24.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average pharmaceutical goods export price stood at $99,249 per ton in 2022, declining by -62.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a tangible increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 94% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $274,964 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($351,516 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($13,207 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+24.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Pharmaceutical Goods Imports in Jordan
